Beech Honeydew is liquid honey, medium-dark amber in colour. It exhibits a bold flavour profile with complex taste. Beech Honeydew is a fine complement for strong flavours, such as pears, apples and blue cheese. Equally adds an excellent flavour boost to muesli, smoothies or delicious on toast.
Harvested from native Beech forests on the wild and remote west coast of Aotearoa New Zealand. Beech Honeydew is a deep amber liquid honey, created by a rare and natural process. Insects ingest sap from the trunk of native Beech trees, and this is collected by bees to produce Beech Honeydew. Known to have high levels of antioxidants that research suggests helps to promote probiotic bacteria to benefit gut health e.g. inflammation and ulcers. Also can be applied topically to wounds and skin conditions. These unique, iron-binding antioxidants are also of interest to pharmaceutical companies.
Harvested by hand with minimal processing at temperatures below 48° C (118° F) to ensure its raw, natural vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are kept intact.
